Solar flare activity might threaten GPS

A Cornell University expert on global positioning and satellite systems is warning they will be challenged as solar flare activity rises. China is to launch its fourth orbiter into space as a part of its indigenous satellite navigation and positioning network known as Beidou, or Compass system.
