Indoor simulated marksmanship trainers are to be developed and delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps by Meggitt Training Systems under a $31.7 million contract.

The five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award is for more than 670 systems and includes their installation and support at USMC facilities around the world.

"Meggitt Training Systems values the successful 26-year partnership as the Program of Record with the US Marine Corps," said Phyllis Pearce, Meggitt Training Systems senior Vice President. "Our high-performance simulation systems, coupled with excellent customer support and program value, provided a strong foundation that led to this ISMT Program of Record award."

"Since 1988, Meggitt Training Systems has helped the U.S. Marine Corps prepare warfighters for combat situations through advanced simulation training," said Ronald Vadas, president of Meggitt Training Systems. "Our extensive library of BlueFire wireless weapon simulators, virtual technological advancements and innovative engineering provides the USMC with superior virtual products that ensure combat readiness well into the future."

Initial deliveries of the trainers are expected to begin at the end of this year.
