Stockholm (AFP) Feb 7, 2010 Two Swedish army officers and an Afghan interpreter were killed when a patrol came under attack in northern Afghanistan Sunday, Sweden's armed forces announced. A third Swedish soldier was wounded in the gun attack near the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, a statement said. More than 500 Swedish troops are currently deployed in Afghanistan, working alongside soldiers from around 43 countries in a NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
