Turkey receives second A400M transport

The second of 10 A400M tactical transport aircraft has been received by Turkey from from the Airbus.

The receipt of the aircraft was reported by Hurryet Daily News, quoting an announcement of the country's Undersecretariat for Defense Industries.

The A400M Atlas is a four-engine turboprop airlifter introduced into service in 2013. It has a cruise speed of 485 miles per hour and a range of about 2,450 with a payload of more than 30 tons.

The air forces of Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Spain and Britain have ordered the aircraft. Turkey received its first A400M in April.

According to the newspaper, the aircraft received by Turkey at the Airbus factory in Spain earlier this month. It was then transported to the 12th Air Transportation Main Base Command in Erkilet in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri, Turkey.

Turkish Aerospace Industries supplies fuselages and wing parts for the aircraft.
