Husqvarna has launched the Ethanol Challenge, an animated, online quiz designed to help educate consumers on the effects of ethanol as well as prevention of ethanol-related product issues.

Husqvarna has issued the Ethanol Challenge in order to provide the tools for consumers to gain awareness about ethanol, in hopes that education can help them maintain and care for their Husqvarna equipment.

Ethanol fuel is an alcohol additive that is commonly used in nearly all gasoline in the United States.

It can be used in all current Husqvarna equipment, however, Husqvarna recommends using at least 89-octane E10 gasoline, which is the mid-grade between regular and premium gasoline.

Fuel that is labeled E15, E20, E85 and diesel fuel are not acceptable alternatives to E10 and will cause significant damage to Husqvarna outdoor power equipment. Product owners should look for an indicator at the gas pump to make sure they are making the right choice.

Not all states require that the ethanol level be identified at the pump.

Consumers can take the Ethanol Challenge here, watching the brief ethanol video and then taking the short trivia quiz on-line, which enters them into the contest.

One winner will be chosen each month through May. Winners may also enter via US mail (see official rules). Winners may select their prize from one of the following Husqvarna products:

+ Husqvarna HD700L Lawn Mower (Part # 961 43 00-85)

+ Husqvarna 125BVx Handheld Blower/Vac (Part #952 71 19-02)

+ Husqvarna 130BT Backpack Blower (Part #965 10 22-04)

+ Husqvarna 128L String Trimmer (Part #952 71 19-46)

+ Husqvarna 240e Chainsaw (Part #966 74 96-01)

And the winner will also receive (6) Six 6.4 oz. bottles for 2 1/2 gal. mix (50:1 Mix) (Part #610 00 01-36) and (6) Six 2.5 oz. bottles of Husqvarna Fuel Stabilizer (Part #505 02 13-01).
