Wind energy companies remained among market leaders last year by posting strong gains in 2008 in spite of a major down turn in market growth.

According to the American Wind Energy Association, energy produced by wind generation grew 50% and created over 13,000 new jobs in 2008.

The stimulus plan passed by the House of Representatives includes the extension of $13 billion in tax credits for clean energy through 2012 and a grant program that covers 30% of the upfront costs of wind energy investments.

This allows companies, like NWND, even in this tight credit market, to continue to expand their wind resources and create jobs while building America's clean energy infrastructure.

"We are encouraged to see that Congress recognizes the important role that companies like NWND play in the U.S. economy," stated Maurice Stone, President of National Wind Solutions.

"NWND is confidently moving forward with our strategies to create jobs while delivering clean energy solutions to America."
