DEGERenergie has announced that it has received an order from Construcao e Manutencao Electromecanica (CME) to equip a 3.5 Megawatt solar farm in southern Spain with DEGERenergie's open terrain TOPtraker 8.5 single-axis photovoltaic (PV) tracking systems.

With the help of DEGERenergie, CME will install a total of 3,044 TOPtraker 8.5 systems with a tilt angle of 30 degrees near Villanueva de Cordova in the province of Andalusia. Already underway, the project is scheduled to be completed and ready to begin feeding energy into the public supply by the middle of June 2011.

"After hearing about our series of successful installations in Spain, CME selected DEGERenergie TOPtrakers for their intelligent sensing technology that yields greater efficiency," said Artur Deger, CEO of DEGERenergie.

"For operators of solar farms, having a company such as CME rely on DEGERenergie is a strong testimonial to that fact that our tracking technology pays off."

The significant order for the installation in southern Spain is the latest in a series DEGERenergie has received for its TOPtraker 8.5 solar tracking systems since late 2009.

DEGERenergie has already equipped four large-scale solar farms in Italy with over 9,000 solar tracking systems, with a total output of approximately 11 megawatts. All installations were performed quickly and smoothly and resulted in optimal energy yield.
