Raytheon contracted to repair F/A-18 weapon assemblies

Raytheon has received a $101 million contract to repair 10 weapon replaceable assemblies for F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.

The four-year contract includes additional options that can potentially raise the value of the agreement to $128 million. Work is scheduled to be performed at a variety of locations including facilities in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and New Hampshire.

The U.S. Department of Defense expects the work to be complete by December 2020.

Under the contract, the company will support and repair weapon assemblies for the fighters' AN/ALR-67(V)3 advanced digital countermeasures. The devices are equipped to all variants of Hornet and Super Hornet aircraft serving under the U.S. Navy, and allow pilots to intercept faint signals, and improves situational awareness.

F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets, are all-weather, multimission strike aircraft designed to perform offensive and defensive missions. The fighters are used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in addition to air forces in Canada, Australia, Spain, and Switzerland.
