ProteXus Crew Protection Systems were developed by Exotic's Specialty Products Group in conjunction with the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC) and the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO). Key prime contractors were also involved in the project.

Exotic's Specialty Products Group has over 30 years of experience working with the U.S. Department of Defense as well as NASA.

"We are proud to announce the launch of our ProteXus Crew Protection Systems. These products are designed specifically to meet a serious challenge: Defeat the threat our men and women in uniform face everyday by Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks in Afghanistan, Iraq, and any other theater." Tom Marino, President of Exotic Automation and Supply said.

There are currently six different ProteXus Crew Protection Systems custom solutions for every part of the crew cab of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) military and police vehicles. This includes the floors, walls, and ceilings of MRAP vehicles.

"Prime defense contractors have been very effective in developing tougher MRAP platforms to prevent the IED from penetrating the hull of the vehicles. But the blast overpressure (BOP) inside the vehicles has continued to cause significant injuries. ProteXus Crew Protection Systems were developed to counter this threat," said Steven Orlando, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Exotic Automation and Supply.

Officials from Exotic Automation and Supply's Specialty Products Group said the ProteXus Crew Protection Systems are able to be retrofitted to MRAP vehicles currently in the field as well as implemented within new vehicle platforms.
