Progress Cargo Module To Undock From ISS Friday
Moscow (RIA Novosti) Nov 11, 2008 The Progress M-65 cargo spacecraft will undock from the international space station on Friday evening, mission control said on Monday. Mission control said the spacecraft will be used as a "space laboratory" until December 6 or 7 before reentering the Earth's atmosphere and being "buried" in the Pacific Ocean. The Progress M-65, launched from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on September 10, delivered more than 2.5 tons of fuel, oxygen, water, food and medical supplies, as well as the latest Russian-designed space suit for use during a space walk by Russian crewmembers on board the ISS. Ground control said that like previous cargo modules, the spacecraft would be used as part of the Plasma-Progress program to explore the reflective properties, as well as the size and density, of plasma particles formed in the spaceship's exhaust.
