Plextek, renowned for its expertise in low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) sensing technology, has unveiled an important advancement in space operations with its mmWave radar technology, detailed in the newly published paper "Sensing in Space." This innovative technology is designed to enhance the safety and dependability of satellite and space mission operations.

Plextek's mmWave radar provides precise detection capabilities, recognizing objects as small as a millimeter up to large inactive satellites. Its robust performance shines under challenging conditions such as eclipses, direct sunlight, or dust-covered lunar surfaces where other sensors may struggle.

Richard Jacklin, Commercial Lead at Plextek, emphasized the tailored approach the company takes for each mission. "There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to sensing in space.
