PROINSO supplies in Barbados a PV-DIESEL hybrid system

The PV DIESEL systems from PROINSO help users save fuel depending on radiation zone, installation dimensions, and the number of hours the engine is on.

PROINSO has recently delivered a PV Diesel Hybrid System for an installation in St. Lucy, Barbados, which combine PV panels and a diesel generator as a backup power source. The material supplied by Proinso included SMA Sunny Tripower 15000TL, SMA Fuel Save controller and structure.

These products were delivered by PROINSO USA, the subsidiary based in Sacramento, California. The installation will help reduce diesel consumption by 60,000L/year representing 16 % of the total annual fuel consumption with a possible payback in under 5 years.

Moreover, this PV Hybrid solution offers independence from rising diesel prices and reduces operating- and maintenance The installation helps PROINSO strengthen its presence Caribbean region, where the firm plans to develop a total of 50MW before 2016.
