Johannesburg (AFP) Nov 27, 2010
Lightning and a storm killed seven people and injured 67 at a Christmas party at a nursery school in KwaZulu Natal, the South African news agency Sapa reported on Saturday.

"The clouds emerged and ultimately a huge storm started. The lightning struck the marquee killing five people instantly and two died in hospital," provincial disaster management head, Mthokozisi Duza said.

The incident happened on Friday in a remote village when parents and children gathered for a Christmas party in a tent set up on the premises, Duza said.
