Hanwha SolarOne with Roll-out of new Polycrystalline Portfolio

Hanwha SolarOne has launched its new poly-crystalline module series in Europe at the Intersolar exhibition opening in Munich, Germany. Features of the new modules include higher efficiencies, reduced weight and size and anti-reflection glass with improved self-cleaning functionality.

"Improved customer value through higher yield and unwavering quality has been the main focus for the development of the new Hanwha Solar poly-crystalline modules" said Min-Su Kim, President of Hanwha SolarOne.

"The Intersolar launch represents the roll-out of our new products into the European markets, and we look forward to introduce the HSL series to our customers here at the exhibition."

New Poly-crystalline Modules Offer Higher Yield
The higher yield of the new module series is ensured through a combination of innovative technology and new service offerings. As a new feature for the European market, current sorting is introduced with the new poly series. Current sorting enables installation of module strings with similar current characteristics, thereby achieving higher yield.

Optimized temperature coefficient facilitates improved performance in sunny, hot environments. Furthermore, high transmission anti-reflective glass comes with improved self-cleaning functionality, ensuring maximum solar exposure for the solar cells.

The new series is also characterized by a lighter footprint with reduced size and weight, leading to cost reductions during warehousing and transportation. Nevertheless, the Hanwha Solar modules can withstand harsh weather conditions with increased durability.

The new modules are certified for snow loads of up to 7.000 Pascal (~710 kg/m) as well wind loads of 4.000 Pascal (~210 km/h). On top of the long list of features, the products have successfully passed TUV Rheinland's Potential Induced Degradation (PID) test.

The new Hanwha Solar poly modules are equipped with the Amphenol Helios H4 connector, the number one performer of the Photon connector benchmark in 2011 and 2012.

The new multi-crystalline modules come in both 60 and 72 cell models, providing power classes up to 255Wp and 305 Wp, respectively. The 60-cell PV module is also available as a smart module.
