Fleet Space Technologies, a leader in space-enabled mineral exploration, has announced the acquisition of HiSeis, a premier provider of active seismic exploration technology for the minerals sector.

This strategic move strengthens Fleet Space's ability to deliver comprehensive exploration solutions, integrating cutting-edge seismic data acquisition and AI-driven drill targeting through its ExoSphere platform.

The combination of HiSeis' advanced seismic imaging with Fleet Space's proprietary technology will streamline global mining operations, accelerating mineral discovery while optimizing efficiency.

Advancing Data-Driven Exploration

"Fleet Space's acquisition of HiSeis represents a significant step toward the future of real-time, data-rich exploration," stated Flavia Tata Nardini, CEO and Co-Founder of Fleet Space Technologies. "Unlocking the potential of AI-driven mineral exploration requires the integration of high-quality datasets to enhance predictive capabilities."

"By merging HiSeis' seismic exploration expertise with Fleet Space's vertically integrated platform, we aim to generate exabytes of valuable exploration data. This synergy will drive faster exploration outcomes, creating greater value for the mining industry. We are excited to welcome the HiSeis team and their expertise in seismic deployment, processing, and interpretation as we develop next-generation discovery tools to support the clean energy transition."

HiSeis: Enhancing Seismic Imaging for Mineral Exploration

HiSeis is recognized globally for its leadership in active seismic technology, offering high-resolution subsurface imaging that enhances mineral deposit identification. Its approach involves transmitting seismic energy into the ground and analyzing the returning signals that reflect off deep geological structures. Using state-of-the-art processing methods, HiSeis constructs detailed subsurface images, enabling precise drill targeting and improved geological interpretation.

By integrating HiSeis' seismic techniques into the ExoSphere platform-which leverages Fleet Space's satellite network, patented sensors, and multimodal AI models-the acquired seismic data will be rapidly processed and merged with other geophysical datasets. This fusion enhances the 3D visualization of mineral systems, enabling more accurate targeting while minimizing environmental disruption.

Revolutionizing Seismic Imaging with AI-Driven Exploration

"The addition of HiSeis to Fleet Space's capabilities marks a turning point in global seismic imaging," said Dr. Hemant Chaurasia, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Fleet Space. "By combining HiSeis' high-resolution seismic solutions with ExoSphere's real-time data processing and transmission, we will enhance scalability while reducing acquisition time and environmental impact."

The integration of passive and active seismic methods presents a major opportunity to improve large-scale exploration. Passive seismic technology, which captures naturally occurring subsurface vibrations, provides regional geological insights and facilitates target prioritization. Active seismic, utilizing controlled energy sources, delivers high-resolution imaging of mineral systems. Together, these methods enhance subsurface characterization, refine targeting precision, and accelerate data-driven decision-making in exploration and mining.

A New Phase for Fleet Space's Expansion

Fleet Space's acquisition of HiSeis follows its successful $100 million Series D funding round, which has more than doubled the company's valuation to over $525 million. This growth supports the ongoing expansion of ExoSphere, a platform already adopted by over 40 leading mining companies, including Rio Tinto, Barrick, Ma'aden, and Gold Fields. In January, Fleet Space also launched its most advanced exploration satellites, Centauri 7 and Centauri 8, aboard SpaceX's Transporter 12 mission to further bolster its capabilities.

The integration of HiSeis into Fleet Space's operations is set to begin immediately, with collaborative projects already in progress.

Helium Found in Earth's Core Suggests New Insights into Planetary Formation
Tokyo, Japan (SPX) Mar 01, 2025
A groundbreaking study from researchers in Japan and Taiwan has revealed that helium, an element typically considered chemically inert, can bond with iron under extreme pressures. Using a laser-heated diamond anvil cell, scientists observed this phenomenon, suggesting that substantial amounts of helium may exist in Earth's core. This discovery could challenge long-standing theories about the planet's internal composition and formation history while shedding light on the primordial nebula from which the ... read more
