Software that will allow Embraer to complete aircraft systems integration on its new KC-390 airlifter has been delivered by Rockwell Collins.

The Pro Line Fusion flight test software is now under configuration control, the company said, but additional explanation was not provided.

"This milestone is very important for Embraer to progress to their first flight and exemplifies how the KC-390 team, led by Rockwell Collins do Brazil, continued its dedication to meet its commitments to this key customer on time, and with quality content," said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, Americas, for Rockwell Collins.

Pro Line Fusion was first introduced by the company in 2012 for use in the business jet aviation sector. Embraer is the first customer to use it for a military aircraft.

Embraer's KC-390 is a twin-engine, jet-powered aircraft being developed for the Brazilian Air Force. It is expected to enter operational service in 2016.

Rockwell Collins, which is producing a number of components for the aircraft program, says it has established a special program management and engineering team in the country to support it.
