El Salvador announces Iraq pull out
San Salvador (AFP) Dec 23, 2008 El Salvador's President Elias Antonio Saca announced Tuesday that his country would end its military presence in Iraq on December 31. "Considering the lack of a United Nations resolution, the government of El Salvador decided to end our presence in Iraq," Saca told reporters. El Salvador has had troops in Iraq since 2003, part of the coalition led by the United States. There are now some 200 Salvadoran troops there.
