American DG Energy has announced that Club Fit, a premier health and fitness facility, located in Briarcliff Manor, New York, saved thousands of dollars on it's energy bills and lowered its CO2 emissions with an On-Site Utility in the first year of operation.

For the past year, Club Fit has received a substantial portion of its energy directly from an On-Site Utility by American DG Energy.

With the On-Site Utility, American DG Energy produces energy in the form of electricity and hot water at Club Fit's facility and sells it to Club Fit at a price lower than their local energy utility. Club Fit pays for the energy they use, not any capital or operating costs.

The energy is produced with small-scale, combined heat and power (CHP) equipment located at the property site, but owned and operated by American DG Energy.

"With the On-Site Utility we've greatly reduced our energy costs and lowered greenhouse gas emissions at the same time," stated Bill Beck, Vice President of Club Operations at Club Fit.

"Because American DG Energy takes care of the equipment, we don't have to think about it. We just have to pay our lower energy bill."

The On-Site Utility lowers Club Fit's emissions up to 578 tons of CO2 gas each year, the equivalent of planting 158 acres of trees or eliminating the emissions of 98 cars.
