China and the United States currently have no specific cooperation project in the space field, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu on Tuesday. Jiang said the heads of Space agency from China and the United States agreed to meet annually to discuss the development of bilateral space cooperation during a visit in September last year by Michael Griffin, administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

During the visit, Sun Laiyan, administrator of the China National Space Administration and Griffin agreed to a four-point Chinese proposal to boost cooperation during formal talks.

China has always supported the peaceful use of space and opposed the weaponization of space and any arms race in space, she said responding to a question on China's recent anti-satellite space test.

The United States said after the test that it will reevaluate any possible space cooperation with China in the future.
