COMSAT backs Astranis From One Many mission with TT&C services

COMSAT, a leading satellite ground station service provider, has announced its instrumental role in supporting the Astranis: From One Many mission, which aims to enhance global broadband connectivity.

The mission, spearheaded by San Francisco-based satellite company Astranis, is designed to deliver broadband services to key customers such as inflight connectivity provider Anuvu and Philippine internet provider HTechCorp.

COMSAT has been providing essential Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) services for the four satellites launched in December. Utilizing an advanced antenna at its Southbury teleport, COMSAT's technical team has ensured real-time monitoring and seamless control of the satellites during critical mission phases, including launch and initial deployment.

COMSAT continues to support the mission as the satellites progress toward their designated geostationary orbits over the coming months.

Kailey Theroux, COMSAT's VP of Business/Sales, emphasized the company's commitment to reliable satellite communications, stating, "Our state-of-the-art ground station technology and dedicated team of experts ensure that seamless connectivity is never a concern for our customers. By automating many of our monitoring processes, we're able to offer enhanced reliability and responsiveness during critical mission phases for newly launched missions such as this."

She added, "We're delighted to be supporting Astranis and we're proud to be contributing to the enhancement of global connectivity as part of this mission."

This mission marks a significant milestone for Astranis, making it only the fourth company to deploy four or more satellites to geostationary orbit in a single year. Furthermore, it is the first instance of a satellite manufacturer launching four of its own satellites on a single mission to GEO, made possible by the compact design of its MicroGEO satellites.

With a robust network of secure international teleports and a portfolio featuring over 90 hosted and leased antennas, COMSAT provides reliable satellite communications to both commercial and governmental entities. The company's US- and UK-based ground stations have supported a diverse client base-including satellite operators, end-users, and the US government-for more than 50 years.

As part of its ongoing mission, COMSAT remains dedicated to delivering top-tier customer support and flexible, vendor-neutral solutions, ensuring clients receive dependable ground segment services when they need them most.
