AMERICOM Government Services Signs Agreement To Acquire AOS

Satellite solutions provider AMERICOM Government Services (AGS) has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire AOS, engineers of secure telecommunications technologies and global network mobility. Upon completing this transaction, AOS, Inc. will be integrated as a division of AGS.

Founded in Dallas, Texas in 1988, AOS, Inc. is a leading provider of highly secure, customized, turnkey network mobility and communications solutions, and engineering, program management, IT consulting and managed network services.

As one of the most respected and recognized leaders in its industry, AOS has a reputation for exceeding customer expectations in solving mission-critical problems with innovative applications of technology and expertise.

Tip Osterthaler, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGS, commented, "The benefits of the acquisition of AOS, Inc. will be reflected in the added value we are creating for our U.S. Government customers. Operational security is an important aspect of how our customers operate - the integration of AOS technology with our satellite solutions will enable enhanced communications for the U.S. Government worldwide."

As an SES AMERICOM company, AGS leverages 38 global satellites in creating custom satellite communications solutions to meet the mission requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, FAA and other U.S. government organizations around the world.

Sue Robinson, President and Chief Executive Officer of AOS, Inc., noted, "The addition of AOS's highly secure, turnkey network and communications solutions will further strengthen AGS's leadership in meeting the U.S. Government's growing demand for commercial satcom and network mobility solutions."

AOS, Inc. will continue most operations from its Dallas, Texas headquarters with the incorporation of a few staff members in the AGS offices in McLean, Virginia.
