Satelinx To Equip Seniors With Location Base Devices

by Staff Writers
Montreal, Canada (SPX) May 29, 2006
Satelinx announced Monday it will supply 2,000 personal tracking units to GPS Guardian under a $500,000 contract to help keep track of the elderly and disabled, as well as provide training support services and tracking and dispatching software.

The company said it also expects to supply another 5,000 units – worth $1.2 million - in the next few months, and it is negotiating with another larger client on a similar order.

GPS Guardian, based in Florida, specializes in monitoring and tracking the disabled and elderly. Founded by Marvin Reinberg and Zev Helfer, the company is a spin-off of an already successful medical initiative for the elderly.

Satelinx provides satellite-based vehicle tracking units that integrate GSM/GPS/GPRS wireless technologies and the Internet to deliver wireless tracking and location services.
