Satamatics Launches Ocean Alert Map Viewer Product

Satamatics' MapView solution provides a secure long-range vessel tracking system to track and trace vessels worldwide. Shipping operators are able to view their entire fleet via the web on a world map and zoom into a single vessel's precise location.

Washington DC (SPX) Mar 31, 2005
Satamatics has launched its MapView product, a web-based mapping utility designed to further expand the capability of their market leading Ship Security Alert System "Ocean Alert."

The MapView option allows the ship owners to view the location and gps position history of all their equipped vessels via the Ocean Alert website, as well as receiving position, speed and course data in a tabular format.

The MapView option will assist the ship owner by immediately locating any vessel in alert status and passing this information directly to the appropriate Flag State.

The new MapView facility also enables ship owners to use their Ocean Alert SSAS equipment as a highly cost effective Vessel Monitoring System (VMS). This solution provides a secure long-range vessel tracking system to track and trace vessels worldwide. Shipping operators are able to view their entire fleet via the web on a world map and zoom into a single vessel's precise location.

Brian Hester, President of SatamaticsUSA remarked: "The MapView product is a great enhancement to our Ocean Alert SSAS solution. We developed Ocean Alert utilizing the most current and cost effective technology available and now our MapView brings a turnkey solution that surpasses the competition. "When comparing on a price and performance basis, it is tough to beat our Ocean Alert SSAS solution.

"The global acceptance of this product and service, coupled with the U.S. Coast Guard's approval, has reinforced our strategy of continuing to provide affordable solutions that solve business problems and satisfy regulatory needs."

Satamatics launched Ocean Alert in November 2003 with certification from all major governing regulators including IACS, the U.S. Coast Guard, UK MCA and Korean Register of Shipping.

Ocean Alert meets and exceeds all SOLAS XI-2/6 regulations while providing many optional add on services.

These services include delivery of data via the web, email, SMS and Fax, to suit individual customer needs, making Ocean Alert the most adaptable and flexible SSAS solution available on the market.

All packages come with dedicated account support, complete warranties, and flexible payment options.
