The Technology Pavilion will include a "Nana" Technology booth, hosted by Andrew Carle, a national expert on senior care and technology, and an Assistant Professor in the College of Health and Human Services at George Mason University. Professor Carle acts as an advisor to GTX, specifically targeting the development of applications for location aware devices to assist the home bound elderly who are memory impaired. He has coined the term "Nana" to describe helpful technologies for older adults. He will provide a daily presentation for attendees and the media discussing issues of "global aging," the critical shortage of family and professional caregivers, and the role such technologies will play in meeting the needs of aging Baby Boomers. "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the premiere event of the year for the AARP, and congratulate the organization on their 50th birthday," said Patrick Bertagna, GTX Corp CEO and president. "Having our GPS Xplorer Shoe selected for exhibit by Professor Carle further validates our vision. The market for our technology grows as does the size of the elderly population afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease...5.3 million people in the U.S. today and projected to reach 10 million within four years time."
